Jacob Jensen. David Lewis was his assistant then - but you will notice that Lewis commits a bit of cheekiness in identifying the two products you mention, as he writes "One of David Lewis' first works at Bang & Olufsen." Whereas on the other products, that he was responsible for, that sentence is missing. Beolab 5000/Beomaster 5000

I believe one of the chief advantages of the Penta design was to eliminate standing waves inside the speakers - while the tall column provided for a more equal dispersion of the sound through the room - giving a greater soundstage. Your room is near quadratic, which is usually a challenge, as there's a greater likelihood that you get peaks and valleys
So if a car salesman tells you your new car can float; you can test it and it should float!
Phew, was touch and go for a while!

Most A/V these days are assembled chip-sets, with different modules from off-the-shelf suppliers being combined - very few companies do in-house development. From the 60s to the early 90s, B&O and other quality companies spent a crazy amount of resources developing turntables, tuners, amp's. B&O realized they had let their engineers go completely

Under Devices, in your iTunes Preferences, it should look like this. That should make it possible to control the volume from the remote location. I have a DAC connected to an AE, and sometimes put the BL3s on the RCA outs of that. I can control the volume using an iPod Touch, as well as control what's played.

When I connect this to the mac headphone socket or the iphone headphone socket everything works OK although there is a slight buzz from the speakers before I start
However, what would be the minimum room size you would recommend to adequately accommodate the BL5s? I live in a Victorian house and I have a dedicated room for listening and cinema viewing. The room size is 4m wide by 5.5m long and 3m high ceiling. I house my BL5s approx 0.5 m from the wall - equal distance from the back

s/pdif over analog... Putting a pair of BL5s inside a too small room is not recommended
Soundproof, how would I/we know if the BL5s are using s/pdif (from the Beocenter 2) rather than powerlink? Unfortunately I think I made the mistake where my source room is too small for

Hi Tom, I'll agree that the cycle is uneven, but the 3rd I find wonderful. Let's just disagree! Will check out your recommendation, though.
