Thanks for that Keith. Pretty sure I will not bother as the STB-C route seems more flexible, as you say.

First very silly thought, and I apologise for this - you have switched them on? The button on the front? Second, have you tried using them with another piece of kit? The PC2 can not work for all sorts of reasons so I would want to make sure it was the speakers first! Try switching everything off, make sure all the connections are made, and then re-introduce

Alex: I really doubt Lee would merge Lifestyle and BeoWorld. Also, I'd like to remind you that Lee is not looking to make money out of BeoWorld! True, but it would be quite nice if it were self supporting!!

What you really need to see is a Beovision 3400SJ and see what the colours are like on that. Modern sets are more reliable but this one takes a lot of beating in some respects. The 8800 is another very fine set!

Wiggster: Hi Guys, I have recently purchased a BeoCenter2400-2, with BeoGram 2400, a pair of S50 speakers, all housed in a lovely MC40 Cabinet. I agree with Keith. You need to reset it to Option 1. Not sure you can do this with a MCP! Where do you live?

I don't really see that you will have to change in the near future. The picture is very good. At some stage, mainstream TV will be broadcast in HD and then you may wish to use an HD screen. The CRT will of course still work though! I certainly will not be swapping until I am happy it is an upgrade.

To connect these two together (and I wouldn't as the power amplifier in the 2400 is pretty average) you would run a cable from the Aux out of the BS4 to the Tape in of the BM2400. You can't use the Phono as it has a RIAA built in so it will sound very distorted. I don't think a Powerlink connection will be the way to go really.
