Well I currently have nothing so I have aquired some shelving and I am working on my little workspace :)
-
New low esr caps installed ( Nichicon) and tried increasing C17 to 330uf and it exhibits the same fault :( I can use it, I guess but it needs to be permenantly plugged in and permenantly connected to a load (i.e. no use of lamp socket mounted on / off switch etc.), otherwise I have to endure a rather un-natural lightshow for a couple minutes upon first

I am sure there would be another company ready to take the plunge, in fact I would have thought a company like Ortofon would have been a likely supplier but maybe the market is too small for companies like them? [quote user="Doctor"] Good to hear all is well! It has to be said that if it was not for Soundsmith, there would be a lot of Beograms

Well done John, as you are finding out that these decks require a methodical approach and an attention to detail! Anyway I will stay away as there are enough helping and I think you are on your way to success... Don't dismiss the service manual for final setup it is very important... Keep at it and Good luck!

Blimey that is the type of thing I would expect Alan Partridge to wear!

Very nice Craig. Very bold, but I like it! Would want this if I ever get my hands on a black Beosystem 7000, and a white version for my white 6500 :) I can see why B&O lumped for grey as it's a more universal colour.
-
Out of interest what did you think of B&O before you did this deal??
-
Contact member Dillen (Martin) who will be able to supply some new bulbs for you. he should be along shortly anyway :)
-
That pic doesn't look quite right to me - more light required and you see where your finger prints are in focus, that is how far away the back of the cartridge should be from your lens!!! Make sure your camera is in macro mode and as above loads of light! As Jaques says it could be inside the deck, or it could be lost :( You know I miss my old Coolpix

ok I received the caps today (finally! OOS!) and have just fitted all. slightly reduced the problem. I am going to try some extra low esr caps I think which I have just ordered. I replaced C3 with a 47uf which almost cures the fault completly, however with the higher value it takes forever to initially charge to the point that the lamp switches on
