The design and ergonomics seems to be close to the Serene, with a Serenata wheel and... A screen on the top! Strange! (I think they are considering that a normal user will almost never use the keypad, so placing it on the bottom isn't an ergonomic issue...

The PS3 is simply the best integrated upscaler available yet. You may find better upscalers, but that's not sure, and it would only be dedicated upscalers, so you would get only marginally better upscale for a totally different price. The huge computing power of the cell processor may be one of the things that makes a PS3 so good in upscale. B&O

I would not have used a color display for such a thing, but a backlit e-paper display, which consumes marginally less power but offer a better contrast and would have been better for giving a "non technological feel" as the designer says... (and it would have been more 2009 for the technophiles here instead of 1990...)

If your device is controlled by the STB and IF YOU SWITCH ON ONE DEVICE AT A TIME (I'm not screaming, that's just because it's the important point), the use should be seamless.
