  • Re: BeoMaster 5 & BeoSound 5 Poll

I would vote number 1, but spending £3700 on a hifi seems a little excessive as a student! Either way, it's my favourite bit of B&O kit.

  • Re: Alternative

There are plenty of other systems, Sonos being one example. I wouldn't say they're similar to the BeoSound 5 though. The BeoSound 5 isn't a media server/center, it's a hifi.

  • Re: How many type of BV7-32?

And mk3. Between the mk1 and mk2, there were quite vast improvements in DVD playback quality and responsiveness. The panel also changed each time I believe. Not sure of the other differences!

  • Re: Beosound 5 poll anyone?

I see your point, but at the same time, streaming audio isn't the issue here - it's streaming video! Now I haven't actually used any wireless video transmitters, so I can't speak for them, but from my experience, even streaming audio wirelessly is enough of a hassle - hence why my Apple TV is connected to my iMac via a wired network.

  • Re: Apple TV sw 2.3 and remote learning?

Correct! In fact, this will give you some extra functionality. You'll be able to choose the extra buttons the Apple TV gives you an option to configure when learning new commands.

  • Re: BV7 40 MKIII / SW 4.24 problem

moxxey: Major problem: I'm constantly getting a Sky warning that 'this display does not support HDCP' after the new sw update. Screen goes blue with the warning. WTF? This keeps happening every 2 minutes. I've tried turning off the Sky box, shutting down at the mains and everything? Any ideas? Not sure exactly what the issue is here

  • Re: Beosound 5 poll anyone?

And how is power meant to get to the head unit? You can use one of those adapters if you want, it'll just mean the use of a few more adapters. B&O uses wires because wires work best. I myself have all sorts of issues with wireless, and I'm not exactly in a built up area. Goodness knows how bad it would be in a built up area with modern buildings (thin

  • Re: Trivia: last B&O product with a control knob?

I believe Tournedos was referring more to a system involving a wire/mechanical arrangement attatched to the knob, as opposed to an electronic sensor, such as in the MCPs or say, the BeoSound 4.

  • Re: bv7-40 w.a.f. situation

The 7-2 does the job very well as long as you're listening 'on-axis' (ie, not at an angle to the 7-2) and as long as you're not too close (ideally at least 3m away). As soon as you start listening off-axis, the differences between the 7-2 and the 7-4 become quite large, not only because of the lack of an Acoustic Lens on the 7-2, but also because it

  • Re: Beosound 5 Hands On Experience?

They could provide an option to turn 'extra track information' on or off in the settings menu (which is really quite empty at the moment). The BeoSound 4 provides this which gives the customer the option to make their own mind up.
