As you say, the radial tracking turntables, in theory, put pressure on the cantilever as they track so I'm not surprised at the distortion you experience on an already well aged cartridge. Brushed aluminium CX speakers have a protective lacquer which can sometimes look pretty ropey. I have improved the appearance on these by simply removing the original lacquer with Fairy Power Spray (it is brilliant for this) & recoating with spray-on stuff from a car parts supplier. Did you sort out the lid problem on the CD3300 yet? It is likely to be the belt, Maplins sell a 46mm cassette belt which will do the job (just replaced one myself on a CD3300 with the same problem). I can send you one if you need for cost price. Chris.

Well spotted Friedmett, not the same as the one I owned which was a much more robust (& expensive) item & made from plate steel rather than a bracket design as this one is. Should work though as long as you hang it on a solid wall with big screws. Chris.
