True - if you get a Beomaster 4500 (good advice) you will soon feel the urge to go the next step & upgrade to a Becenter 9500 ......... and then.... it never ends. BTW, I'm surprised no one has mentioned baby wipes & baby oil yet. Baby wipes are by far the best products for cleaning the s/steel panels, followed a very sparing wipe over with

if I had them I'd keep 'em
I managed to get one but I moved to Beosystem 6500 so never completed the IR kit I got. No I'm not selling it.
Ooh you tease I'm afraid Friedmett is correct, you need a terminal 5000 for everyday use, not to be confused with the CD 50 terminal or terminal 3300 which both look very similar. Keep watching

Good question & I suppose it all depends on how the particular deck tracks. As you say, the radial tracking turntables, in theory, put pressure on the cantilever as they track so I'm not surprised at the distortion you experience on an already well aged cartridge. I suspected that was the case, seems strange though that a BM5500 works two-way with the MCPs (which also work with later BMs which are BL7000 compatible) and not at all with the BL7000.
Even more strange is the BM5500 works with a Beolink 1000 & NOT a Beolink 5000 - even though the Beolink 5000

Welcome to Beoworld Which model 1800 do you have? there are 2. Type 58** from the 1980's & the earlier Type 5213 Chris.

Did you sort out the lid problem on the CD3300 yet? It is likely to be the belt, Maplins sell a 46mm cassette belt which will do the job (just replaced one myself on a CD3300 with the same problem). I can send you one if you need for cost price. Chris.

Well spotted Friedmett, not the same as the one I owned which was a much more robust (& expensive) item & made from plate steel rather than a bracket design as this one is. Should work though as long as you hang it on a solid wall with big screws. Chris.
