It does not have to be that visible but I wouldn't put it on a cabinet as it will probably vibrate the cabinet! Mine is to the side of the TV and almost behind a chair. It is also now blue so that it matches the TV and so does not stand out so much. Which other speakers do you have? You could try it at the back of the room though you will obviously

I'll have a look! Not sure about that one but I do have a few oddities around! As you know, the manuals for the speakers are pretty basic!

Easiest way to do this is to remove the aluminium plates on the top and then run the deck. You can do this by pulling the wood trim forward. It will make identifying the problem much easier
-
1. That is a fair price for a good deck. 2. No. The cartridge comes as a whole. It is possible to get them re-tipped by a specialist but the problem can often be the suspension. Cheaper to get a new one! 3. A very good deck and one of the best of the radial decks. The tangentials are much more sought after - and more expensive!

Welcome to the club! I do like your avatar by the way!

It is actually possible but not sensible! You will need to get a way of having an IR eye to control the link system and tune the MX1500 to the link frequencies. We do have members who have done this but it is complicated and as you can get an MX TV of newer vintage that will just work for next to nothing, the sensible answer is exactly as Christian

Yours sounds like a different problem to mine. I'll let you know if I fix mine though!
-
I think it is coming loose from the mounting. When you slide it manually when it hasn't opened, does it click at the end of the movement, and then will it work?
-
If it is the same as mine, it is not the sensor but the fact the door opening mechanism doesn't engagage with the door. Does it click when you put you hand in front of it?

The BG1700 will actually take all the following cartridges: MMC3000, 4000, 5000, 6000 MMC20S, E, EN, CL Soundsmith SMMC20E, EN, CL, CL+ It will also take two rarities - the MMC10E (US model) and the SP15. What are you planning to use the Beogram with and where do you live?
