Mine has one, and I also saw one in a 7000 I fixed... never understood the purpose of a heavy solution like that. Took some time to figure it out. Anyway, the plastic part has grooves inside the side walls that squeeze around the PCB on top of the transformer. It snaps in once it has slided in place towards the front of the deck, there are no screws

Whenever I find myself pondering over different makes or series of power supply filter caps, I take a look at the wiring gauges used throughout, and fall back to not caring The 8000 is a bit different, though...

Is the BS9000 old? I think the glass plate coming off was a problem in early production, and there was a factory recall for it. There's still a chance that it might be repaired (new door) for free - if you can get the serial number from the seller, it might be a good idea to ask a dealer about it.
