Not sure how many not so much impressed potential customers have left the shop with out the superb audio expirence and have the "B&O nice, expensive but under performer" mind set
I think we're on the trail of something quite spectacularly sad, Kawo (and thavn). I'm pretty certain there have

It's kind of becoming a truism that music on DVDs is generally better than that released on CDs. The sampling rate shouldn't make that much difference (48kHz DVD vs. 44.1kHz CD), but it does. And then 5.1 DTS will have more resolution, and more dynamic headroom, than does a CD - and if properly mixed, you really notice. (Sometimes they just

Would be nice to hear of your experiences with the BL5s properly set up, Nisrani. And good luck whichever solution you go for!

Turn me up! http://www.turnmeup.org/ Turn Me Up! ™ is a non-profit music industry organization campaigning to give artists back the choice to release more dynamic records. To be clear, it's not our goal to discourage loud records; they are, of course, a valid choice for many artists. We simply want to make the choice for a more dynamic record

(Hmmm - heard of one customer where I live who bought six BL5s, because he wanted more bass at home after trying two. At the time I thought he had to be a bass addict, now I think he wasn't made aware of the correct setup.)
Nice and cozy area you live in, soundproof ... I would

Thavn's on the trail here, and I wouldn't be surprised if this has happened to other users. I can't remember which thread it was, but I remember another thread where a user wanted to buy BL2s to supplement the BL5s, because of insufficient bass. Probably another case where they had forgotten to switch OFF the subwoofer selection. This can
hello could it be that the bl5 when calibrating itselfs that the sub is not so explosive as the bl2 they have the power to do it better but maybe they get a difrent signal to be not so explosive.
Hi Nisrani - the short answer is "no." As pointed out earlier, the BL2 is not as precise a sub as are the

I can absolutely empathize with Nisrani's quest here, though. I have had a number of strange experiences in B&O stores, with equipment that was not correctly set up. My "favourite" being the store where a pair of BL5s had pride of place, and both were playing the left channel signal. If B&O wasn't so busy covering all the bases

The BL2 is less precise than the BL5. The motor that moves the diaphragm of the speaker (the throw of the speaker) is not as fast and precise as the BL5s. Therefore, in portions of a soundtrack where there's a lot of information, the BL2 will interpret this as one WHUMP, where the BL5s will properly decode it, to let you hear what you would hear

It's only in rare instances that computers, Mac or PC, are equipped with excellent soundcards, and then usually just on machines intended for professional customers who work with sound/music/film, and who specify a particular card is to be installed. On the other hand, the "regular" sound cards have become quite good and are serviceable
