• Re: Beovox M70 Rescue & Adoption
Try "what a fool believes" again
Of course I was kidding. I had the M70s out in the garage giving them their final finish. I used Minwax Paste Finishing Wax. I was using the CX50s temporarily while I was checking LP holes. (But that's another story for another thread.)
First reaction would be to install a fresher belt -but I think that would be a mistake. More tension would likely have lead to damage to the needle, the record, or the motor. The "stall" may have saved everything???
It's an interesting question. The deck has performed flawlessly since. I've
Stunning only begins to describe what I see Leslie.
Since I'm otherwise speechless, I guess I'll just say, "What Eugene said."

Tonight I got out the four pairs of Beovoxes I've refurbished in the last year and listened to each on the BM 4000 from JaffBay. So, faceoff among: Beovox M70: new capacitors and resistors in crossover, complete rewiring, new damping material, new gasket for back, new fret cloth, custom stands Beovox S45-2: new capacitors in crossover, complete

The Google Fu - generally concentrating on Thorens tables that have "spindles too large" - said the solution was just to turn a wooden pencil in the hole. Soren's solution of the hole reamer had me thinking of a larger version of a hobby file I own (back in my Warhammer toy soldier days). Sure enough, this Nicholson part number 21853 8

I used my Google Fu today and learned this "spindle too large/LP hole too small" problem isn't necessarily rare. Never had a problem with any previous turntable, but so far have found two LPs in my collection won't fit the BG 4002. The DIN spec is 7.24 mm -0/+0.09 mm. The RIAA spec is 0.286" +0.001"/-0.002". So, DIN

  • Re: Fair Market Value for Vintage M-70's?

Do what I did - put them in the dining room! Seriously, though, if you end up shipping them, Dillen/Martin strongly suggests performing preventive maintenance on the phase link. See my M70 thread under Vintage Products. Are you anywhere near the La Crosse to Prairie due Chien corridor? I drive that once a month when I visit a plant in Marquette, Iowa

Would these be the same pins as the seven pins in BC4500 cord? I've removed two from my BC4500 and could donate the extras.
Yes Rich, its the same ones, but I would tape them to the cord, you will never know when you need them, without them remote control wil not work

By the way, this is another 4004 with the two extra pins in the plug missing. Quite a shame, since it's used alongside a 2400. When can we expect a reproduction? Anyone?
I have a pair of pins here, will look into posibility of making copies next time I'm
