• Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

Hello, Peter, Tim and Martin all suggested to fabricate a new pulley. That's all very well but: 1) No friends with a lathe, 2) Does anyone have a template, or would like to draw one, because I planned to look at all my scrap VCR, cassette and CD boxes of wheels to see if there would be any matching pulleys I could possibly adapt. Listening to very

Great! What do you compare your 8002 to?

I would link the ground wire to the original cable (just try to slide it under the plastic of the DIN plug, so that it would stay in contact with the DIN metallic part), not only to the amplifier.

Thank you Olly! The deck is mine actually. I haven't picked it up yet but it's a matter of days... I got it for €80. Anyway, should anyone have a spare pulley... I also emailed Tim Jarman who always has good advice. Cheers!
If you have a friend with a lathe, I would suggest getting one made as you can use better materials.
Yes thanks for the sensible suggestion Peter (!), but I still need an original one to copy from now don't I? The carriage worm screw in my 4002 is indeed smaller in diametre and is made of brass, like all

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

I had the price rebated a bit, because of the missing pulley. Has anyone here got one? Maybe I could adapt one from an old VCR or something... Any thoughts please? How does the MMC4000 compare to the later models? The lid doesn't look too good, but then this was the case on my 4002 (nay, worse) and it came out really nice and shiny! [quote user

  • Re: Beogram 4002 running slightly slow

Tell us, did you replace or clean the two speed adjustable resistors? A bad contact at the cursor could generate that sort of thing. Replace or clean those R1 and R2 adjustable resistors. Do you have any skills (like building kits) in electronics? Also a noisy motor usually is more obvious when turning without its belt ... So my guess is an electronic

Ah yes I can see it now, thank you, I had missed that one! The owner can't tell me what happened to the deck because the previous owner passed away, taking this with him... I'll have to find one then. Still worth €100?
