If my school boy French is to be believed (!), you want to separate the AV9000 to make it easier to transport. This is certainly possible as the monitor section is held onto the base by two large clips. You want as new as possible. The first ones had a slight tendency to blow drive units and later ones have improved protection circuits. They are supposed to sound better though this is a little debatable. However they are worth looking for. Serial number 16992475 or above!

Actually the problem with the 4000 is not that it is that fragile, it is more that it is made of very heavy parts! If one of these comes loose, it rattles around and breaks things! Not my cup of tea! And are these real or a concept? I am sure they could well sound very good - there are a lot of excellent high end speakers - but will not be as easy to set up as 5s. Once you get to this level though, the whole thing becomes more about you and what you want to project about yourself.

You need a 5 pin DIN to 2 RCA cable. Datalink will not be possible as the BS4 doesn't have it!
