• Re: Is BeoConnect the only way to get Musik onto his BM 5 Beomaster ?

My BM5 pops up as a network drive in Mac OSX (called BMSHARES). I just plug all devices in the router with cables and start transferring. That is pretty fast..
55G in 3hours....I don't call that fast
That's five megabytes per second, or a pretty good saturation

  • Re: Beovox/Lab 3000/4500/5000 wall brackets

It would be easy if I had access to proper tools... It will be difficult to drill four holes in an exact straight line into a concrete wall of unknown quality, so I'd still rather have the original style slightly adjustable brackets (but not bad enough for £60 and the trouble of being stuck somewhere UPS can find me). So, query still on. eBay

  • Re: Beolab PowerLink/Line connection

Unfortunately the BL3 service manual doesn't have detailed schematics so I can't be 100% certain, but it is possible that in line mode, they will turn on with detected audio signal on the Powerlink input as well (some earlier Beolabs do). In that case, you could keep your existing Powerlink cables at the speaker end of the setup, and not need

  • Re: RL 45 vs RL 60.2
How do RL 60.2s compare to RL 6000s?
I have both. Never did any direct comparisons, but technically they differ very little, so I wouldn't expect much difference. I replaced the old electrolytics in the 60.2s with MKT foil caps, and they improved a great bit - much more than my passive Pentas, which received

  • Re: Hyvää Juhannusta

Itse juuri pari tuntia sitten taas kuuntelin saunamökin Beomaster 900K:ta. Täällä varsinaisessa on Beomaster 5500 ja Beogram 4004, joka saa kyllä taas huomenna soittaa vanhaa musiikkia sekalaisilta älppäreiltä

  • Re: Beogram 7000 tone arm assembly not moving

I can't see why the hook would come off... it's really small though, and as I recall the spring needs to slightly wrap around the plastic to reach it. I think it took me 15 minutes of frustrating efforts with all kinds of small pliers and pins to reattach it

  • Re: Help please. Beolink 7000 malfunctioning?

Yes, after your experiments I guess it's now safe to say the Beomaster needs work. IMHO it would be good to have the Beomaster serviced while it still works; there's always a slight chance of more damage if one of the filter caps dies completely. It doesn't necessarily need a full recap, just the small electrolytics in the power supply and

  • Re: BeoSystem 4500 Restoration
What would be the most efficient way to minimize or eliminate this heating problem, or is this a "go back to sleep"/in my head only, problem?
As I said, don't worry The amount of darkening I see in the pics is not a problem, it's quite normal. You can replace some components with higher rated ones

  • Re: BeoSystem 4500 Restoration
Mine show two "hot spots" on the Power-supply & Output Amplifier PCB: "Diagram C" If you don't see/didn't see this, has anybody else seen this? Should I worry? BM starts and works fine as is, but I don't know if this is normal or foreboding an imminent failure?
These are both

  • Re: Are these Bi-Polar capacitors?

At least according to the schematic symbols, they are. They both seem to be passing AC so there must be a reason - odd circuitry nevertheless.
