I've had that same thought. It's just another example of how the content industries don't have their heads wrapped around a new business model. I have a feeling that like me and many of my customers, I buy CDs, mostly used for a few dollars, off Amazon, rip them and throw them into a bin until they get donated. What kills me is that Amazon

Trip. I hope the music system has a place for me to plugin a Beogram 7000 besides the Beosound 5. I don't want to get too digital!
"Tell him he's dreamin'!!"
There will be a spindle for a wax cylinder. You can access by pressing A.WAX

It's true. Only the Audio Only version is discontinued. The DVD version lives on.
When you look at the new audio system how it was described in the last years financial report it said that it links to an Ipod or a Beosound 5 system. I 2nd the 2 way remote, but I am thinking they first should spend some time gather feedback what people really want from a BS5. For example, MOTS within category to filter

My ears were burning! The MLGW is about $2,500. While I understand the irony of a free app that requires a $2,500 purchase, how else was it expected to work? It's either working on WiFi or with a dongle. The dongle idea makes it nothing but a Beo4 (but worse than a Beo4) and the only way to interface with B&O globally is via the gateway. The
(i.e.) It is a one trick pony.
May want to check your math. BeoSound 9000 CD Radio BeoSound 5 N.Music N.Radio Photos & Video Internet browser So without attaching external devices like BeoPorts, the BeoSound 5 can actually do more than the BeoSound 9000 and its abilities will increase over the life of the
I should hope the Beosound 5 is unfinished. Beosound 5 is after all a computer and those of us who own one know very well there will be periodic updates. I suppose the one thing that I would have hoped the BS5 had is an AUX port. I would plug a Beogram 7000 into it. That sounds like it would be an interesting convergence

Iconic perhaps from a design standpoint... my problem is the ease of use (set up) and the lack of features... for your money. I just don't see it as the "new" BS9000.
Many didn't see the BeoSound 9000 as the BeoSound 9000
Why should B&O listen. They seem to have decided that their's is as Trip says "an elite client." Too bad, at least here in America. That "elite client" snobishness is just that. Don't bother Trip unles you're prepared to give your architect/designer a budget north of $250k for the a
