Perhaps what is happening is that sound sent to the Beovision for decoding is output as 7.1 but when Dolby True HD and DTS HD are decoded by the player they are sent on as 5.1 and as the decoding is done external to the Beovision, the Beovision just passes the 5.1 on through. The problem with this view is that the manual for our Sony says that Dolby

We are using a Sony BDP S550 and yes I was playing the DVDs in it. And yes, when playing a DVD in it, when using Apple TV, and when watching satellite TV all seven speakers were producing sound. I will be curious to see how our new 7-55 operates with seven speakers once it arrives.

We have a Beovision 7-55 ordered which will be replacing the Beovision 7-40 soon. Now for the questions: 1. The Beolab 1s are placed in the back corners of

it is close to 15 feet wide and 17 feet long. The TV goes on the wall goes on the side that is 15 feet wide. Also, the back of the room, behind where we sit, is open to a breakfast area and the kitchen. I will try to post a couple of pictures.
