Not at home with my manual, but I think it should be option 6. I don't think you can alter another room's volume from outside without simply turning the whole system off.

Agree - the test I mention above tests the whole system - optical sensor etc. If it doesn't move, the arm motor is not being told to advance the arm.

Is the arm advance working? Take the platter off, then start the deck and drop the arm - it won't ht anything! - now gently move the arm inwards so that it angles towards the sensor arm. If it traverses inwards slowly, the arm motor is OK.

The output should be exactly the same. I suspect the suspension has failed I am afraid. Soundsmith might be able to help I suppose but it won't be cheap!

There is nothing particularly rare or unusual pictured - except one picture which is a little bit of a cheat - but quite a few of you got that one!
