I have two 4002 machines and one 4004 with the inferior to the inferior bearings so I will check when my bench is empty :) @ Mika does yours have a second bearing sleave at the bottom like mine? @Jacques yes my 4000 bearing completely silent and pretty sure the others are effectivly so! I use light mineral oil for the bearings so that they hopefully

That's interesting, I contacted my local dealer about a spare rubber keypad and he said spares for this model are no longer available and I should try ebay!!!

Not B&O, but will be very usefull diagnosing faults in B&O equipment! Not one, but two ESR meters, the circuits of which freely available on the net... The top one seems to be working well, I am having teething problems with the bottom one at the moment. Hopefully the top one might look somrthing like this if I can master my plasticard skills

Yes I agree, I personally don't think anyone would notice a diference between new 'audiophile' cables and the original DIN, and perhaps the din would be less prone to noise too.. would make an interesting blind test!

My 4004 also came from Denmark (not stating the obvious, in the imported sense!), along with Danish instructions :) Anyway, speed is indepenant of voltage, so your problem is going to be related to a stretched belt, faulty capacitor or something catching on the table maybe...
