The Lab 5000s are so tall that the slightest error will scream out loud - I believe a wall of solid wood will be the only case where you could mount the screws accurately and might not need any kind of tweaking afterwards.

This is all from memory and it's hard to tell from the photos, but I believe the peg that should hold the spring is still here. There's not much of a hook to speak of, and that's why the spring is so eager to slip out. Also, to me it seems the bar has flipped too far to the back, which won't help in keeping the spring in place. How is
