Hi Andy, despite what B&O tell you, you don't need an audio master to use BeoPort...I never had any BeoSound ! My BeoPort is connected to a BV3 and works perfectly well. You can always connect it to a TV via Masterlink, and to your Pentas in another room by Powerlink and even control everything with a loooong IR cable. The advantage of having

Well actually, when you select a video and an audio source at the same time, the sound is just mixed, that 's all, no short-circuits or damage. Going back to the original question, yes indeed, it would be much better to use a datalink cable to connect a BC2300 to an MX! I had this setup when I started with B&O, with a BeoLink 5000, you were

Hi, the idea of adding a sub only will be hard to achieve on an Avant, simply because "speaker 1" mode doesn't activate the subwoofer! Only speaker 2/3/4/5 options activate the sub, but in "speaker 2/4" the TV speakers will be muted, and in "speaker 3/5" you'll get either Dolby 3 stereo or Dolby Digital, so you'll

Sorry guys, but this is not completely true.. I have my BeoPort Powerlink output connected to the Powerlink out on my BV3, and since the powerlink signal is looped, it goes straight to the BeoLabs that are connected to the BV3! So I can turn on the front speakers without Masterlink cable or direct connection to the BeoLabs from BeoPort. This is useful

If this was true, it would be both good and bad news for a lot of people. I think a computer based BeoSound or BeoVision would be a great thing as long as it uses the PC standard for all its advantages: - Internet connection for complete software downloads and updates of the products, making it possible for B&O to repair many issues by a simple

To be frank, the FM signal received is the most powerful of all radio stations you will get! So the sound is quite impressive, and not comparable to any radio station you would hear in your area. Besides, B&O tuners are excellent, so as long as you use one of them, you should be very happy with the sound.

I have a BeoCenter 1 in the guest room and all my PC audio (net music , net radio, PC CD) goes to the BC1 through a simple FM transmitter. This allows wireless transmission, excellent sound without any dropouts like wi-fi, the possibility to have your music wherever you have a tuner, and also station naming! I called "my" station BeoMedia

I voted for 2-way communication, as for me this is becoming the top priority in B&O systems. Having BeoPort/BeoPlayer, it is a real challenge to find the right track or station if you're not in front of your PC, and I can imagine that it is soon going to be the same nightmare for DTV stations once you get thousands of them to choose from. This

I'm so surprised that, from all PC based solutions, BeoMedia is the one that has almost never been updated, although it is the most expensive solution: BeoPlayer & BeoPort can show CD art covers, BeoMedia can't Nor can it play video files (any PC can do that) Nor can it play Dolby Digital sound (although it has a digital output)! I had BeoPort

To be quite accurate, the Lab 4000 goes up to 97 dB, wheareas Lab 3 goes up to 94 dB...so the 3 will saturate slightly before the 4000! Yet, if sound balance is your concern, indeed the Lab 3 should suit better with the Lab 5 as front speakers (ALT + ICE amplifiers in both speakers).
