  • Re: Beogram 6000 / 4002 33/45 Speed Problem

The next problem to solve was this 33/45 Speed problem, which is more detailed in this post: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/95021.aspx In short, there was a problem in the 33 circuit, which the previous owner had skilfully hidden by disconnecting the 33 indicator bulb. When I connected the 33 bulb to the circuit, this above problem appeared

  • Re: Beogram 6000 / 4002 ToneArm not lowering - Lubrication Points

Here's the first step on the road to recovery: Lubrication of ALL these points is incredibly important. If the arm does not lower (barring any severe electrical problem), the cause is dried/coagulated lubricant on the RED circled areas. If you can see any dried grease, remove it. Then gently squirt Sewing Machine oil onto: 1. Both ends of the Yellow

  • Re: Beogram 6000 Quad 33/45 Speed problem

Hi Mika, You are correct that I replaced the bulbs with LED's. However, this did not cause the problem, but actually identified a pre-existing problem. Here's how: When I bought the BG6000 last year, the 33 indicator light never illuminated - I thought it was burnt out (when I put in the LED's, I looked closely, and saw that it was actually

  • Beogram 6000 Quad 33/45 Speed problem

Hi all, This is a never ending adventure! Just when I think I've taken care of everything, something new comes up. When I press START <<, The 33 indicator light (on the left of the red 4ch light), illuminates for a split second, and then immediately, the 45 indicator light illuminates, and remains illuminated (with platter speed 45, as indicated

  • Beogram 6000 / 4002 Problems and Solutions

Hi all, After many trials and tribulations, I have completed a total overhaul of the BG6000 Quad, which I bought last year on Ebay from a used HiFi dealer in Toronto. Previously, I thought I that had fixed all the problems, but as I progressed, hidden defects came to light, which the previous owner/technician had intentionally hidden quite skilfully

  • Re: BG 4002 / MMC600 questions

It's difficult to quantify in a Digital manner (0's or 1's). But were all analog fans, so here goes. The MMC20EN is a warmer, rounded sound, but still incredibly detailed. The SMMC20CL+ is sharper, even more detailed. For listening to stereo LP's, I like the MMC20EN very much, but that's my personal preference. For CD4 LP's,

  • Re: Beogram 6000 Quadraphonic problem

Hi Mika, You are spot-on. It is the muting circuit on the CD4 board. I put in the 1N4148, and all is OK. For your problem, look on the picture above - the 2 transistors close to the big brown Elna capacitor are the other 2 transistors I had to replace. As you see from the above photo, I have replaced all capacitors (including Tantalums) with Wima MKS2

  • Re: BG 4002 / MMC600 questions

I have the BG6000, type 5505. I have both the MMC20EN, which came with the turntable, and then I bought a SMMC20CL+. The reason I did this is because the MMC20EN, even though its sounds beautiful, cannot play Quadraphonic LP's properly. No question about it - if all you've got are Stereo LP's, the MMC20EN or SMMC20EN are more than just fine

Mika, I realized that if I wanted some good help, I'd have to put in some good information, so here's a sketch of the circuit in the AA143's immediate area. Does this help you to determine whether we need a Zener, or is a 1N4148 just fine? Double Click on it to enlarge for clarity.
