The transmitter window is somewhere along the front glass panel. In the right light you can see the two (one receiver, one transmitter) squares in the right light. I wonder if the problem lies in the Beomaster....

Is it definitely a Beomaster 5000 that you have, and definitely an MCP5000? They will only work with each other, and the BM5500/MCP5000 or BM5000/MCP5500 combo will not work. If they are compatible, try turning on a video camera on a mobile phone and press one of the buttons on the MCP. You should be able to see the IR transmission, and also if it's

Seriously though, there's no point in buying an 8000 to use with Beolab 1s. The 8000 has 150w per channel, so why circumvent this and use the Beolab 1s' internal amps??? Get

Nice collection :) How about a Beosystem 6000 Quad? You could use your 4002 with a BM6000 in the initial stages, and you'll have one of the most iconic and beautiful systems to boot. There's a gold star for anyone who can find and actually use a 3 head Beocord 5000 too - that's committment to the B&O cause!
You could of course purchace the 9500 from any of our familiar companies ending in -AV, and let them worry about packaging, delivery, and what to do with the pieces afterwards if need be
Not a bad idea at all! Seriously though - the 2500 will soon make it onto the 'non-serviceable' list in the short
