I will be looking at purchasing a new TV later this year, and a revised BV8 - 40 would interest me greatly. Hopefully, I'd like to see the internal surround sound processing be brought up to date as regards Dolby True HD, DTS Master Audio etc, for Bluray discs, and also 40" is a bit limiting in some aspects, so as suggested, the option of a

Congratulations upon a superb looking, and no doubt superb sounding system, and to your interior decorating skills. Out of curiousity, for movies, may I ask what source are you using, and how do you find the active speakers in the Beovision 8 - 40 match with the Beolab 5's as regards centre channel use? Please keep the photos coming; this has been

Well, as someone who's been involved in music and this 'hobby' for nigh on forty years, the Lab 5's are some of the, if not THE very best loudspeaker I've ever heard, and I've heard more than a few. Certainly they are my personal reference and dream speaker, so I definitely understand and 'share' your excitement. On a

Well, there's sunny days, and then there are SUNNY days. And the iPhone is made for world markets, and as I alluded to earlier, Joe Public is renowned for doing silly and thoughtless things. I can't vouch for Death Valley USA, or UK summers, but here in Australia, where this summer the temperature on the infamous Black Saturday reached 46 Celsius

Well, I daresay I may be in trouble then, as I purchased my first iphone (32GB 3GS) yesterday, let it charge overnight with the USB mains adaptor, and set it all up earlier today. So far, all seems perfectly normal, in terms of what one would expect from an electronic device. In fact, I'm stunned at the technology, ease of use, features and amazing

I would concur. I've heard BL5's setup with BL9's as surrounds and BL3's as back surrounds, on Bluray, and without doubt the sound was amongst the very finest, if not THE finest home theatre sound I've ever heard. I particularly agree with the dynamite analogy... Best Regards John....

Possibly. A glance at the spec sheet will show that in bass extension, the BL2 is 'average' and the BL5 is outstanding. True bass infrasonics, i.e. bass that goes below 20hz, is the province of top tier subs, amongst which the BL5, whilst being a full range speaker, can compete with the very best. What marks it out is it's ability to play

Greetings All A very interesting thread to read through, and thank you to all who are contributing, and may yet share their thoughts and feelings about B&O equipment with us. Perhaps I could be classed as a very lowly B&O owner/fan, as I merely own a couple of Beocom 2500 telephones and an Beocom 1100 answering machine at the time of writing

soundproof: The B&Ws are the diamond-tweeter version, connected to the CAM400 monobloques. As to room reflections - to me it just makes sense. A sound consists of direct and reflected waves, and most concert arenas will have gone to great effort to control the reflections, and make them part of the listening experience. So - doesn't the recording

Alexander said: Why only consider the B&Ws at this price point? The Nautilus 800 series has some serious flaws, chiefly the midrange driver and driver integration problems. Maybe you should consider speakers from Magico and Wilson Benesch or the new and controversial Polymer Audio instead, they are sonsidered more high end in sound than that of
