  • Re: We all share the same passion!

Here are a few pics of a system we just finished in a small second home at a western US ski resort. B&O in a traditional setting...... "Mountain Cabin". BV8 + BL3s + Macbook + Apple TV + Tivo + broadband service (7 mbps) The concept is to achieve high fidelity (both audio and video) digitally in a small space (total size of 1 br cabin

  • Re: Beosound 2 & Leopard

Nick12345, I am about to transition to Leopard, and would be pleased if you can outline how to get the B&O cradle to work? I have found quite a few problems with the USB card reader solution and have abandoned it in favor of the (slower) cradle which gives consistent results. Thanks

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen sees FY loss on weak pre-Xmas sales

Puncher, I do not agree that high disposable income is a neccessary condition sufficient for purchase of B&O. Being older, I will from time to time have gatherings at my residence where I invite younger collegues. A part of my professional interests involve design and these collegues are often very aware of design. It has been rather frequent that

moxxey says: "The problem is that the average home user only wants to watch basic TV and view a movie from time to time. They don't care about 7.1 surround sound and so on. For this reason, it's way too easy to go out and buy a fairly decent Samsung 40" LCD for around £700. That's the main reason B&O kit now looks too

  • Re: Unlocked B&O Serene?

The tri-band issue is significant in the US and you should check the coverage in your area for AT&T and TMobile. The Tri-band Serene phone is compatible 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz systems. In the US a fourth frequency (850 MHz) was added (primarily to the AT&T system) and TMobile has an arrangement with AT&T to swap secondary use of their 1900

  • Re: B&O BlueRay

My experience with the movie portion of Apple TV agrees with the following table published by Apple: Format Resolution Audio Cost Broadband speed: wait time to start movie 9 Standard Definition 720 by 480 anamorphic (maximum) Dolby Surround 8 New releases - $3.99 Library titles - $2.99 6 Mbps: less than 30 seconds 2 Mbps: about 1 minute 768 Kbps: about

  • Re: B&O BlueRay

I agree, digital downloading either through a PC or other device (like Apple TV) is definitely the endpoint. I am not entirely knowledgeable about Blue-ray and the associated details but recently when Apple refreshed their laptops they did not include Blue-ray supposedly because of current cost considerations. I wonder, however, if they are thinking

  • Re: The Real B&O Problem

I remember the "old" days in the US (1970's) where B&O were just a section of a high-end audiophile store. Typically the products were presented in a separate room with a few "experts" around to help but only if they were not trying to convince someone else about the advantages of a McIntosh tube amplifier. Back then you
