I'll be very interested to hear if this works. I would like to build a similar Beomedia in the DVD2 that I have. The DVD2 works OK but if I can strip it and build a Beomedia and have the DVD/HDD capability that would be great! Good luck and let us know how easy or any problems you have. Stoobie
I'm reading as much docuemtation as I can but maybe it hasnt sunk in yet...its a whole new world to get my head around.....but a lot of fun.... Cheers
Did you find this site ? It may just confuse you more! but there but there is a fairly good description of MasterLink/ BeoLink if you start at B&O-specific

This is a long shot and may not be practical, but Philips ProntoNG remotes (& Marantz Equivalents) can learn B&O codes so if you can find someone nearby who has the remote it may be worth a try. It will need to be the ProntoNG versions not the older Pronto models. NG versions are:- RU950, RU960, RU980, RU990, [or US versions TSU3000, TSU3500
I don't know how you designate one transmitter is tied to one receiver ... I don't think it is a dependency on software levels
I hope this is possible when fist pairing the Wireless 1's - my three are "paired" so I don't do any thing with those, but on my two newer (older software
I remember a thread where it was not possible connecting Wireless1s with different software versions
Yes that is correct if you have 2 with different software versions they will not work as a pair. (As I discovered and mentioned in my my original question) What I'm wondering is will 2 of each software version

I have a set-up with 3 wireless 1's working on the latest software. I'm aware, through personal experience, that the software on the Wireless 1's all have to be the same versions for them to connect/work. I have just won 2 further Wireless 1's on ebay and whilst I'm fully prepared for them to arrive with incompatible software, I'm
Remember that the hardware B&O produce *does* have the latest software installed when it leaves the factory. You're suggesting that dealers upgrade the software to the latest version before it leaves the shop. This is impractical for many customers and doesn't offer a good experience. You might be the exception

I can't imagine you really think that it is acceptable for B&O to allow stuff out of the showrooms.. It should leave the showroom with the latest software!
Let me tell you that I've had more issues with BV7-40 sw than most people. Please be more considerate when
-
It would be nice for all products to ship with the latest sw, but that would require B&O opening each item, connecting to a laptop and then spending time updating the product - even updating the sw on a Beocom 5 isn't a quick process. Most customer's would be shocked to see this happen in the store, so it's
-
You would think that B&O would demand that when an item is sold new from a store, that it does not leave the store until it has the lastest software/firmware installed so the customer has the perfect B&O experience! I cannot believe this is allowed to happen, if Gregory's phone was supplied new but has out of date software it gives B&O
