I have a full digital beoport/mac mini system with a huge amount of music on it. All music is ripped in full losless from my own cd's. Having the original disks provides me automatically with a backup. Besides all the advantages of this ( a full cd quality library of music at my fingertips), we still keep around 100 cd's at arms reach. Usually

Let's hope the replacement BeoSound offers full digital integration with the existing home network, 2-way communication (if no remote offers this anymore) and digital output for BeoLab 5! B&O should indeed invest in a full new digital platform. The beosound5 could have been that fresh start but sadly missed the point all together. Drop all the

Wouldn't be surprised if they did stop production of the BSS9000. I love the white edition myself and is still one of the most beautiful pieces of design ever conceived. However.....it also stresses the need for new ideas in (beosound or beocenter) units. I love the flagship designs as the BS9000 or the beosound3200/ouverture but what is left if
An interesting take... with a spin. Vox or Lab... historically Pentas or Panels. Disconnect the amps... et viola! I would LOVE to see a modern take on both. Manufacturing simplicity and meeting price points in one go! I would be first in line for a Mondrian Mk. II
I'll be in line right behind you, Jaff

Last thing I did was downloaded some of my wife's favourite art and put that up as plex screensaver. S45.2 if you're into 'ol style, especially classic gear and sound great with vinyl. 4. RL60.2/RL6000 can have fantastic sound ....if positioned properly. 5. CX100 .. good sound from a compact speaker.
I have started using Plex (under LinkPlayer) for its iTunes music interface ... I select albums now and queue them rather than individual songs as one does with iTunes ... (it maybe iTunes has a hidden album queue feature) ... certainly that's how the past 3 days of music has been um orchestrated :)
Pretty

I like using plex as it's the one interface that does-it-all.... I know plex takes some time setting up and some maintenance to make it work flawless. It's also highly customizable. (think aeon or alaska skins) However it's the one interface my wife likes and is able to figure out easily. (she hates the 'kiddie' ATV interface as
What you have set up seems to be closer to my 1. solution : you didn't use any iTunes server running on the NAS, you just put your entire music collection on the NAS and set up iTunes so that its library is not on the computer HD but on the NAS.
I have indeed the Itunes master library on the NAS which does not
2. If your NAS has an iTunes Server installed (and running), you can acces to the NAS iTunes library without doing anything : just connect to the network with any PC/Mac, and in iTunes, under "shared libraries", the name of the NAS appears. You get all your music, but on every NAS I've tried (mainly WD and
