Hi all! Is there anyone who know if there are replacement polished steel panels for beolab penta and beolab 3000 still available from b&o? Any ideas of how to get the old ones off? /Fredrik

It's quite easy in my opinion. If u can solder and desolder components its pretty straight forward. Just keep in mind the polarity of the caps. Most difficult and time consuming work is to remove the boards and put them back again. Complete one board at a time. /Fredrik

Hi Yes I did a cap replacement on my 6000 system and it sounds wonderful now. Im sure martin have a kit for this. /Fredrik

Hi again Did a complete capacitor overhaul in my beolab 3000 speakers and decided to try your modifications in them. Changed the OP amps in the signal path to OPA 2134 but I didnt remove any "unnecessary" caps, just changed the input cap to the poweramp to a polyester type. This actually resulted in a much clearer sound than before. I didnt

Hi Great story! Im doing an overhaul on a pair of beolab 3000/5000 amplifiers right now and I will try some of your modifications where it's possible. Would be fun to hear the difference when Im done. /Fredrik

Hi DIN pin 7 = yellow (datalink) DIN pin 3 = white (Lch) DIN pin 5 = red (Rch) DIN pin 2 = shields from the white and red DIN shield cover = black (system ground) Check the old cable with ohm meter to figure the pins out and the colors of the cables. /Fredrik

Hi Are you sure that there are no problems in the crossover board like bad caps. Both tweeters have the same DC resistance so there is no problem with the voice coil. Try to replace the tweeter from the other speaker to see if its still low output. If it is the problem must be in the crossover board. /Fredrik
