The CD player in one of my Beosound Centry's that has served me well for almost 16 years suddenly stopped working today. It worked fine 2 days ago, but today when I loaded a CD it started spinning, then came an odd sound and the laser eye just fell down to the bottom of its track and the CD. Next the CD stopped spinning and the Clam opened again

As far as I can see from the Bose manual there is an amplifier along with these speakers. Therefore it should be possible to connect this system to one of the powerlink sockets on the BV8-40 with a powerlink to composite adapter.

I am not quite sure if this will work but maybe you can get a USB sound card for the mini and use that for the analog sound and then still be using the optical out. For one the soundcard has to be apple compatible.

Only problem making the split is if you use digital out from the Mini today (it has a combined Optical digital sound and analog 3,5 mini jack connector)

I am planning on buying a Beovision 8 40" for my living room. I have a Mac mini I use as mediacenter and it should be no problem connecting that to a HDMI port on the set and control it via the STB in the BV8. The Questions is will i be able to use (and control) the Mac mini via link on My MX4000 in my bedroom. I know it hasn't got masterlink
