I honestly don't know too much about how well engineered the B&O car stereo's are, but I'd assume they put a fair bit of research into it before slapping their name in any auto maker's product. This is easily an area where a company could 'sell-out' so to speak. Perhaps some of the B&O experts here can explain a little

I agree with the above, just go to SoundSmith and purchase an SMMC4 from there. They're extremely well made, matching or exceeding Bang & Olufsen's own specifications and they're NEW. Original B&O MMC cartridges can be found on ebay & the like, BUT: -they're never cheap -you could get shafted on the quality -they're old

It is! I had the RX for about 10 years, but always envied the looks of the more modern & mid / upper level turntables. I think I'll stick with my 5000 unless I find myself with the extra few hundred to blow on the best BeoGram I can find. I don't honestly see that happening though, so I think I'll be happy with this! mike
