  • Re: the little difference between boys and girls...

I still wanted the BL8000 and thought I could justify them as rears - lost that one, have a pair of BL6000 behind me - nice, but not iconic. All I need to do now is find another room...

My wife likes the looks and sound of B&O and using the Beo4, while I'm as interested in the design, features and attention to detail of the products. I was set on buying a pair of BL8000s and the day we booked the demo, the BL9s had just arrived and she helped us decide to buy the BL9s - happy days!

  • Re: Eyes wide shut B&O product marketing

Buy yourself a pair of BL9s and a BeoSystem 3 - you will feel better! The good thing (I keep telling myself this anyway) is B&O eventually offer upgrades when things settle down and stick to what they know when they release new products. There is always one feature you can wait for or you can enjoy what is available today and not get too hung up

Alex, Best of luck with your exams. Wise decision to invest in your future - then you can earn more to invest in more B&O... MaxG.

  • Re: Beosystem3 owners: wire management and heat question

MaxG: coaxial optical Sorry read coaxial digital. Also the socket density question has come up, and I found the front SCARTs a bit too close together and two QED connectors would not fit in slot1 and slot2 without the red locking tags bending too much. It's now dawning on me that this unit was designed with HD sources in mind and a lot of cabling

  • Re: Beosystem3 owners: wire management and heat question

I bought the cabinet with my BS3 which is in principle a closed in box with some ventilation to the rear (I couldn't get the back on mine with the amount of cabling and power I needed - hopefully solved if I can find sources with coaxial optical not needing the converters or move the HDMI) and have never noticed any real heat from the unit itself

  • Re: Why not Gold?

I'd been thinking about it for a while - and that's all it took, a why not? to wake you up on a Sunday morning, done. Thanks to all. This is a highly valued site and I wouldn't want to see it disappear for lack of financial support. All it would take to get your ROI is one misguided product purchase without the benefit of everyone's

  • Re: BS3 with non-B&O speakers and subwoofer

I have no practical experience of this but providing they are active speakers (Subs generally are anyway) then it should be, with the necessary cabling know how. The only other option I imagine would be by stringing a power amplifier off the powerlink sockets, again with suitable cabling, and the connecting passive speakers to the power amp. If you

  • Re: Hdd-recorder

We watch TV on a Panasonic 42" TH-42PWD6 plasma and the Toppy gave far better picture quality from what we had been used to. It was instantly better than the Panasonic TUCT-100 we had before, and I'm not going to mention the Pace years. We used to use a Sony VTXD800U to provide a freeview signal to our analogue DMR-HS2, and this picture was

  • Re: Hdd-recorder

If you are just after a HDD recorder (and not a burner) have a look at the Topfield TF5800-PVR. I can control it via Beo4 through the STB controller from my BS3. I'm not sure whether these updates are available for your Avant, but I guess B&O could provide this via a firmware upgrade? I asked my dealer when I was looking at PVR options compatible
