The 9s are very musical. Good speakers.

Ah - the heavy bass squadron. Someone I know put a "balloon" on the mike of his BL5. Recalibrated. Claimed it made the speaker get a very attenuated return signal, making it "think" the room was very large. Have fun. (If going for the factory reset described above, remember you have to reenter the codes. With me, that gives a wildly

kimchr - something doesn't sound right - though it does depend upon how much bass you want, of course. What are you using as a source? Are you certain the speakers are getting the low frequency signal?

Something really wrong about the setup, then. It's a mystery why dealers don't check this. My BL5s literally move the downstairs neighbour's porcelain during some movies. Haven't broken anything yet.

I'm probably going to sell my Beogram 4000 (and it's back-up Beogram 4000). But I'm wary of shipping these and will look for a buyer locally. Could keep it of course, but I feel that these units have to be used regularly, to be kept in shape - and I will be focusing on the Beogram 3000 for my vinyl playback, as I can use different tonearms

Apologies for the lack of updates here - I've been having a wonderful time getting to know my Beogram 3000 Thorens, and how best to set it up for excellent playback. I have switched speakers, from the Dynaudio Focus 140s to Gradient Helsinki 1.5 -- hypermodern meets timeless classics. And I have been spending quite a bit of money on vinyl - to feed

Nice. My dealer is very pleased with the BeoSound 8, he says they are literally flying out the door.
