I could be looking for a home for a rather nice MMC4000. Hardly used - the only fault was that the stylus guard fell off - I glued it back on! (Just checked and it has fallen off again!! Stuck it back on again!!) Interested?

My Beolab 5000 amplifier always sounded a bit exciting - we reckon it had a bit of a lift at the top end. I am not that impressed with the 5500, 6500,7000 amplifier in absolute terms. I prefer some of the older models.

By all means! I have not actually had the 3800s that I have running! A good friend has a pair - I bought mine for another friend but am working out how to get them to him! It would be good to hear them working! You can have a compare with some other B&O speakers - I do have a few floating around..... Most evenings are OK - not tomorrow though as

Agree. I use a DVD controller to work a Panasonic DVD-R and it is pretty good. B&O dealers do not talk about it though!! You have to ask!

If the Beovision in the study is attached to the 8500 and this is the master, then you will be able to listen to TV channels on your system though out the house. I would suggest getting a reasonably up to date TV for the Study - an Avant DVD springs to mind as this will accept a set top box controller which can then be used all through the house as

I have active Pentas. I like them a lot though the bass is lacking at the very bottom in comparison. however there is a slight upper bass hump that disguises this. The problem with Pentas is driving them. The Beolab 150/200 that comes with the Beolab is fine but most other B&O amplifiers will struggle with the exception of the 8000 and 4400/6000

mor: I am puzzled by this big discussion on the software and its availability. Just by coincidence I walked into a dealer in Cologne and he offered to give me the software right away without being asked "if you want to safe some money for us doing all the configuration and feel like you can get it done yourself, I'll give you the software!"
-
I understand that the software still has bugs in it so I cannot see it being released until that is fixed. But I agree completely that it seems silly not to allow owners the ability to customise their own remote. For those who do not wish to, the dealer network is available.

....mr anders(son): JoC: Peter: At the time of set up. You can choose from logos for TV channels and radio stations from a very large library. You also get the option of using free text and choosing the colours there as well. Each button can be assigned either a logo or text as well as the IR code or sub-menu code. This does require the software so

Need to be BMP files of less than 100 pixels square. If you make the ones you want and then put them on a memory stick, he should be able to import them to the Beo5. It is best if the background is black.
