You did say that you have a BeoSound 9000 in the main room? Have you set it's timer and tried that yet? I don't really hold out much hope for you, as the 2300 and 4000/Overture didn't have the capability of becoming 'link' systems. But I will be interested to seew how this plays out. Russ

From Soundproof: "...your BeoSound 2 is great, but there's a reason why there are screens on B&O's new mp3-players; why no digital surround or "movie screen opening" on the BV8?; the late adoption of hdmi-connections?; digital in on BL5/no digital in on BL9; no digital out on BeoSys3; no DVD-player in BeoSound 4; no SACD

Quote: Then the BS3 variant- which of course is needed to run the screen- This remark escaped me initially, and I am ashamed to admit it. My entire defense of the MKIII was based on its inherent value, and the inclusion of the BS-3 engine is paramount in the explanation of it's price. The main reason for the MKIII's price IS the BS-3; and it

Brilliant debating technique: "Your analogy with a 12 year old benz was highly appropriate however, back in the early 90s is when BnO peaked- thats when they made good products, with design that was exclusive with performance to match a high price.- Please tell me ONE product that that statement applies to in the present product range?? BL9/5 excepting

OK, so here in the US we have our disadvantages...but all I have ever seen are the MKIII BV-7; so please take that into consideration...I have no opinion on the

From what you're saying with regard to the projector, you'll need to get something in the BS-3 family. BV-8 has no video out at all, and really isn't intended for theatre use. Other than that, the picture is quite good, and I think the sound is really nice. For its intended purpose it is a great piece. Russ

Hello All! Several good posts here, but Stan raises 2 points which I wish to address: Stan: 2) B&O TVs are too expensive for my taste and purposes, and more and more, the forum seems to be TV / surround sound questions. No problem here. I realize there's a lot of options so, obviously, there will be a lot of questions. Just not my interest.

The BV-8 has already reached the B&O stores in the US, you should be able to see one with no trouble if you're nearby. Be fore you buy, make certain to go over the connections available, and be sure that your dealer has the SCART adaptors on-hand, or at least on the way. Russ

The first thing to try when members of this family 'lock up' is to carefully inspect the buttons on the front face. It is possible for a button to get 'hung up' in a slightly depressed position, and this will cause the device to get confused. look carefully from the side, or top, and check that all buttons are the same height. If one

Yes, it breaks down completely. You'll need a set of Allen/Hex wrenches, but it should be no trouble at all. Russ
