I have an intermittent problem with the turntable on my Beocenter 7000 Most of the time when I press the PH button the turntable starts normally. Sometimes there is a kind of 'pop' sound then notjhing happens and sometimes nothing at all happens. Usually turning the unit onto standby for a couple of minutes solves the problem. This morning it

Thanks for the link. I couldn't believe how amazingly ugly the headshell/cartridge combos looked when the cartridges were plugged into non-B&O turntables! If you are paying that much for a cartrige it is worth buying a B&O turntable to put it in. Simon

My father's Beovox S30's have been defying replacement for more than 30 years now, including when he took them to his local hi-fi shop and auditioned them against some very expensive speakers. The rest of the B&O he bought at the time is long gone. He uses them exclusively for classical music and they still sound stunning. I have recapped

It's also worth spending £5-10 on a battery-powered portable microscope from eBay and using

Speaking as a sad old 40-something who has been dusting off his record collection I can definitelty say you have a problem! I clean both stylus and records regularly, but use nothing special to do so. When I was using my old MMC20S I used to have a lot of problems with the stylus picking up dust that I didn't get with the MMC20E I also had. When

Sounds way too much to me given the age of the unit! Simon

Just be wary of the fact that buying old B&O speakers and tinkering with them is the the 'gateway drug' to buying lots more B&O! Simon Zelbinion: Thanks for the replies, guys. Now I just have to work out which ones I want to get. The S45s have recently been refurbished, as have the S50s. I'm leaning towards the S45s, as I don't
