MCL2E gone to the states. List in first post updated. Martin

After about 3 or 4 minutes, the set suddenly went quiet. I quickly pulled the power plug but while reaching for the plug I did notice that the dial was still lit and the magic eye still indicated a strong station. Hmmm.... A double check using a nearby Beomaster proved that the radio station I was listening to was now only transmitting silence. Pheew

Those who didn't qualify : - Two fuse holding clamps - oxidated (The fuse glass shattered so the fuse is not pictured) - Two resistors - one well done, one medium rare - Two capacitors - one disabled and one ready to go off anytime - Two dial lamps - switch on and it will become darker - One ceramic capacitor - can be used as a 620 Ohm resistor

The polarity does not matter much if you use a dipol arial but I chose to go with one red and one black. Martin

With the last knob fitted the chassis was now ready to mount back in the cabinet. It's a bit difficult to say why P-valves and E-valves were mixed. They are very similar but still there are differences. The PCC85 does not demand as high as anode voltage as f.e. ECC85 which may make the P-valve the most attractive for this set. The heater voltage is also a little different but since the dropper resistor compensates for this, that

Wow yes, that would be appropriate. The now empty cabinet got a once-over with a little polish to make it shine again. Martin
