Hi, Good work! I for one settled for a slight increase in weight. I just read the value of the "floating" setting (+0.2 for me) and duly apply this to the arm (1.5 grammes for my SMMC20EN then, instead of 1.3 g). Voilà!

After a bit of cleaning and oiling (15W40!)... I didn't oil the platter. I just cleaned it with a slightly wet duster. I rubbed the alu plates very hard after oiling, so that it is insensitive to fingerprints. You will notice a scratch on the platter.

Ta Olly. I'll come back when I have replaced the bulb... and re-aligned the arm! Happy Christmas ! Yet another piccy...

Thanks. I'll leave it as it is then. On another topic, my Beogram 4000 is one of the later 1974 models, where the shutter light 100Ω trimmer was factory installed. This is supposed to alter the brightness of the bulb to overcome the problem caused by different batches. How do I adjust it? The service note doesn't give a clue.

Hi, Don't you worry. When using the two sets at the same time, just don't push the amp too hard... Leave the bass at the zero setting and the loudness disengaged and you should be fine! Merry Christmas!

A few pictures... I've found aluminium bushings of the correct diametre, but I had to re-drill the pulley to increase the inner diametre a bit. I use a bit of plastic I shaped to form as a half-moon key (I can't machine metal). Works well!
