I think it depends a lot on what you value personally. The existence of the BeoLab 3 makes life difficult for the BeoLab 6000, but we still sell plenty of them. The sound is terrific and the look is timeless. Say what you will, but you'd be hard pressed to find an unhappy 6000 or 8000 owner! I'm sure I've already chimed in on this thread
TripEnglish, Thank you for taking the time to respond. I find that reassuring as I would like a little more bass from the BL3s, but I don't like some of the issues expressed on this forum about the BL2 (which in addition to maybe being slower, just seems too bass-y to me). BTW, do you have an opinion on how much

BeoNut1, You're right about the marketing direction. But the BeoLab 3s can definately benefit. You'll be hard pressed to find that setup in stores for a little while (and it's not like you're down the block from one in Mobile anyways!), but as they fully integrate into the showroom I'm sure the majority will wind up with 3s.
You can control LC2s all over the house using a BS7000, BS6500, BS4500 (2 way), BC9500, BC2500... and an MCL linksystem. It`s possible to program global light settings - using LINK LIGHT commands. Also works timer controlled. I managed to control the blinds from different rooms via MCL system and a Lintronic relay box

B&O isn't exactly a discount brand. That's a good thing and I'm sure it's contributing at least partially to why you want one. If new is genuinely out of reach, second hand is a great alternative. If you're just being cheap, loosen up and get what you want.
Well, I talked with the potential HA guy for my job. He says that Ra2 has some limitations. .I.E. no override during an astronomical clock event, and. . no fireplace control. .etc. So, he's trying to steer me towards doing a SavantAV HA with Vantage Lighting. . . I know that Ra and Ra2 play nicely with B&O MLGW

I was about to buy a pair and then I made the mistake of listening to them! That being said, the industrial design on these is fantastic! I particularly like the little cylinder where the cups can rotate. Very well executed.
Thanks Trip, My idea is to use Ra2 for lighting/automation. I do not have shades but was going to tell the MLGW to use the shade up/down buttons for B&O volume. . . any reason this won't work?
Yes and no. You can absolutely use a keypad button as the Input in a macro and it can certainly change the volume
Trip, You seem to be the only guy who knows much about the MLGW. Do you have version 2? The instructional video looks like you can basically have it do full B&O automation throughout the home .. .and. . .create your own iPhone custom app? MJM
Sometimes I feel like it. I have the most current version (MKII

Two things: 1. You say you think it's a bit low. Did you feel that way with the Avant? They're not that different in viewing height. 2. I'm amazed that I've only seen/heard of the clouding issue here. Many faults and "eccentricities" with the products are known and discussed within our ranks.
