ArgyleMoss: 9 LEE: Same old story for seaside towns unfortunately. Unless it's a very affluent town you have to consider that half your clientele are molluscs and other forms of aquatic life (think of a circle round a coastal town) - so many of the seaside resorts don't have a dealer. Lee Plymouth is actually the major city of the Westcountry

Bulgarien: SED are "dead" today, but it will be a new and much, much better standard in 5-10 years or when they have sold enought LDC yes but the issue is that the pricing of present technology is dropping so fast that new technolgies will not survive and companies will not be able to commit to expenditure as they will neevr recoup the cost
-
To those of you who felt they should wait for sed!!! It was meant to be the display technology to beat them all, but SED is now dead in the water. Proponents Toshiba and Canon have conceded to the inevitable and issued a statement confirming that SED will not become a commercial proposition anytime soon. Puncher: We shouldn't get hung up on the "China" thing - many companies design elsewhere but manufacture in China. There are high quality manufacturers in China as well as those most people think of when asked. The Stig - ver. 1.27: The socket unit is made in struer any thing thats has a pin code is made by BnO and the modules inside it???

the complete unit is made in china!
-
Beofan2: What products are made in China?? I need an answer! BV8, the socket unit for the BC2 and many more assemblies. With the pricing policy and profit requirement of B&O it would seem that they will go the way of most and do more wholescale china made projects
-
Peter: I may be wrong, but wasn't the Archimedes project partly done with Kef? And isn't the bass unit in the BL5 a Kef unit? yes Peter the bass unit is made by Kef
-
Is this what B&O is all about now?? Its so BIG for a start. Where has the ultru chic design gone? - the feeling that one is holding something special?? at a time when so many manufacturers are comming out with super slim devices we are offered this alarmingly large device that is not particularly advanced technically and has put mobile phone design

soundproof: I think the last poster has many valid and important points. I will, though, point out that my choices in car, boat and place to live are not informed by how "inexpensively" I can do any of these. The computers I use, the phones I call people up with, the cutlery in the kitchen and the art on the wall all carry a price premium
