No, I don't think [SHIFT] shall emit a signal. It will use the second used button to emit a special wanted signal. For example. [TV] emits a command to activate TV, but [SHIFT] [TV] shall not send the command TV but [AUX]. There's an old topic about this (service menu on LX5500) but I can´t find it. I remember A is "hours in use divided with 10". So your TV has been used for 20 550 hours (2,35 years). This of course doesn't include standby mode. B is hours in use left divided with 10. (40) Sorry, can't remember B and C.
