That is exactly where I was leading Chris. I have always found that the 7cm set down is the critical adjustment and much coarser. Get that right and the 30cm one is not far off. The carriage does not move fully to the right, even when the adjustments are correct.

How is the set down for the 17 cm setting?

Almost exactly as I predicted I'm afraid! You can get a DIN to RCA adapter cable from SoundsHeavenly who advertise at the bottom of this page. Your local B&O dealer will be able to get the deck looked at if you don't feel able to do it yourself.

It is inside the deck under the outer metal disc! I suggest that you take some time to study the service manual at length. One wrong move could be costly.
