Our server/hosting company for the forum appear to be having some torrid times. Rest assured Keith is working on it - and if all goes to plan we'll have an absolutely first class forum with no connection issues and extremely fast response and refresh times, on our own dedicated server.
....but i have my music up loud enough not to care.
Correct, I agree. Something I've been saying for a while. Sure, the humming is there, and noticeable at times, but in the scheme of "major issues" involving the MKIII (sw)/MKIV (crashing)/MKV (clouding), this is almost a non-issue!

Pretty much everyone agrees that there needs to be a BV7-46, too. Something in between the BV7-40 and 55! Too much of a gap. I'm keen to get a 46", but feel dropping down to the BV10-46 would affect my experience, particularly from an audio perspective. According to my dealer, there's a big conference due in September where they will discuss
Total guess but differences between the US and EU versions might be due to the population of an HDMI 'socket' on the EU board by the DVB-HD tuner?
Yeah, but that doesn't account for the change in contrast ratio etc. BV10-46 has only been released!
I have to say Bang & Olufsen were very unlucky..
There's a difference between "luck" and good Q&A. The latter is what B&O was lacking. We did all the testing for them, with zero compensation.

New specs??? It's only just been released? Are you sure it's an update? Good lord, I'd be fuming if I'd bought the BV10-46 and there was a major update, so soon.
But white spots like the ones posted above should IMO not be present on any tv, regardless of pricerange.
True and that would be a major issue for me, too. However, I've stopped upgrading my panel for this reason - every time we stupidly decide to upgrade to a "better" BV7 panel, we have issues
Has anyone actually critically viewed a BV10 and a BV7-40 side by side?
Yes.
I can understand waiting for an LED back-lit BV7-40, but putting an edge-lit panel in just because it's "newer" is silly.
Which is exactly what I've been saying.
I cannot decide if my lab 2 is even doing anything anymore, when i switch it off the lab 9's sound fuller and not to high pitched.
I have the same setup as you - I turned off and then sold the BL2 after a year. It didn't really add anything to the BL9s and I managed to get £1000 for it :)
If there are no 40" direct LED panels in existence from the manufacturer, then B&O should consider using the same edge-lit panel from the BeoVision 10-40.
I'm sure they thought of that, but I guess that panel either doesn't fit or is regarded by B&O as not being of the quality required?
