Have the same passion as you I guess (lots of ideas and bringing them alive). Can you or others tell me what tweeters I have to look for regarding to ohms and frequence? The originals are 6 ohms. Saw this on a Dutch webshop. Need 12, so have to start with a cheap alternative...
This Beoviris is great, isn't
Evan, a new project has started thanks to you.... Will start this in a new thread.
Way to go Leslie!! I will be watching with great interest! Looks like you are going for a replica, doing it the right way!!

Ah! No foolin Rich? Those 8.2s and 12s would be perfect!
Check out Beovox 5000 service manual on site - it contains the schematics for at least three different old Beovoxes that had the connector for the real cubes. Apparently they all manage with a single cap in series with the cube. (I believe the original cubes have a filter cap inside as well?)
Okay, lookng

Here they are sitting on my BeoVox 2600s. A good period setting for my brand new 2011 BeoVox 2500! @ Leslie, This is not their final resting place, they will be sitting on my massive JBLs in my monster system. Pictures coming soon.
You didn't ask! Remember when building the next pair I'd love to hear these. Are you going to add some kind of an internal crossover so the tweeters stay safe from low frequency power?
Noted! Re: the filter - see above. They will be connected directly to an amp so they will need some heavier caps probably
Evan, you should call them Babyvox 2500, a new b&o baby has born. Positiv critics though, hope you don't mind. The base you're using now makes the cubes smaller. Why not using the sime dims? Where did you buy the tweeter and has it the same size as the originals. Any specs of these on the net? Keep up posting

Now where were we, I have lost my place!

What ever became of your CX50's? Those would be perfect for ambio.
Gave them to my mother-in-law.
Is she an vinyl ambio junkie like you too?
Negative. But she does dig classic rock.
Well I'm
Thanks for the pictures of your project Evan. Lots of nice details inside as well. I'm already looking forward to the next one...
No problem! I'm always happy to post these things. The inside was cramped and detail intensive. The next one! What would you like to see?!
