The 5500, 6500 and 7000 are all essentially the same deck. I am unaware of any major changes and I believe they all use the same service manual.

Couldn't agree more - I think the only problem is that the 4000s are almost wasted as rears! Maybe when the next generation of surround sound comes in it will be different - but I actually prefer the music and sound to come mainly from the direction of the screen anyway!

I would confirm that this has nothing to do with Beoworld as it now stands. The withdrawal is from the old Connoisseurs' Club which was run by Steve when he owned the site. It would appear that an automated system is at work and I would suggest contacting Paypal as the service is no longer available and is hence inappropriate.

If it is temperature sensitive, could it be dry solder joints? Usually a CDX problem rather than the CDX2 but worth a thought.

My favourite , partly for sentimental reasons, is the 3400SJ. The 6000 could rival it!
