While I'm glad to hear that there are a few users out there without problems, the majority do have at least minor issues. To date I have not been able to get two handsets to work in my own showroom. The problems are also not isolated to SW issues. Buttons consistently stick on most of the handsets and the wheels often feel like there are shards

It doesn't matter which you do first. All you have to do is type in the BeoSound 5's IP address & password. BeoConnect does not find these automatically. Move the wheel to Settings and press Right, Left, Right, Left, Go. Now you'll be in the "deep menu" and can access the Network Settings and set your user password. Enter these

You can also power cycle the devices involved and the issue should be, at least temporarily, resolved.
