B&O can probably no longer supply the internal modules etc. but luckily there are people, at least here on Beoworld, who can diagnose and repair at component level. I don't think it becomes narrower towards the top of the photo, I have a feeling that it's because it has been photographed from the "pointy side of its angle". Note the lighting reflections, light is hitting more on the top part. The center part is definitely raised over the surface, carpet, towel or whatever as the focus is bad on
