I am working on getting the service manual for this machine - we can adjust something painful!!
-
Wrong fitting I am afraid. You need a MMC1,2,3.4 or 5 - or one of the new Soundsmith ones.
-
The complexity is just in the set up which customers need not see. They will merely get an intuitive remote control designed to suit their system. Having had a Beolink 7000, I find keeping the remote on the charger no problem at all - I have finally had the batteries on my Beolink 7000 replaced after 15 years!

I think Andy has found a way around this!! You need to leave the room with the set in Radio mode, press TV, then V.Setup, at which point Tune becomes available, and then return to the room! Should work!! Or get a Beo5! I agree that a Beolink 1000 is easier though or indeed a Beolink 5000 in one way mode if the S/W is not that needed for 2 way control

They're not keeping you busy enough!!

Have a talk to Tim Jarman at www.beocentral.com who can either fix your V8000 or suggest an alternative. He has just fixed my VX5000 and your V8000 should be child's play by comparison!! I would consider Sky+ for time shift recodings and a VCR for archive recordings. The Topfield is a good suggestion if you don't want Sky.

The Beolink 1000 is fine. However some 4500s will also work with the Beolink 5000 and 7000 in two way mode and all will also work with the Beo4 and Beo5.

I think this is a classic B&O product. However to work properly, it needs to be set up carefully or it will disappoint. Unfortunately, not all dealers seem completely confident in this, and this has led to some customers being unhappy with their purchase. Find a good dealer though and I have every confidence that you will be very happy with the

The BV1 probably has the Sky box set as V.Aux. This is how my AV9000 sees my Sky box. Select V.Aux on the List of the Beo4 and see if that works. Sat should work the Sky+ in the other room. The MX STB controller works in a slightly odd way!
