This hit the market in July 2004. Probably debatable which is better , the Mk1 or the Mk2. The build quality deteriorated with time and the Philips ones probably have the better picture. The later ones do have a better menu system though rather than the incomprehensible Philips pictograms!

No contest - MX6000! The MX2000 is not actually a B&O chassis and neither is the ME6000, coming from Nordemende and Philips respectively. The MX2000 also uses the older remote codes and I doubt there are that many ones working well for sale. As far as price is concerned, very variable! These are quite big sets and have been replaced in the nation's

Over the years, I have collected a lot of B&O most of which I no longer have. I do still have a few favourite pieces though but wondered if we were all set an arbitrary limit, what we would have. So the lists do not become unworkable, there are some rules! 1. No current products are counted! These are clearly for everyday pleasure but are not collectible

Looking at the figures, I don't think so. The Serenata can use Lossless files which it would appear the BS6 cannot. Seems strange and I may well be wrong. The Serenata really did sound fantastic though!

It should be. Attach using a Powerlink cable and don't attach the IR eye. This should allow you to use it it just like a MCL2P.

I love the 4000 series decks. Beautifully made and they sound wonderful. A little bass light compared to the best decks - Beogram 3000 Thorens etc - but just wonderful! Very pleased to hear yours is working again.

Wonderful that a fan of the vintage equipment has won the Beolit 500. What of course you need is a second one and then you can use it as an intercom!

Does it emit a click when it gets to the dropping spot? If not, it may have a faulty solenoid.
