  • Re: Beolab 4000 vs Beolab 8000

I have 4000s and have listened to 8000s extensively. The 8000s are superior in my view by a fair margin. Similar levels of bass but the 8000s seem more detailed and a little less boomy than the 4000s. The 4000s will also shriek earlier when going loud! Distortion in the top end I suppose. I have not heard the new 4000s with the ICE amplifiers though

  • Re: 10disc CD changer...

Yes, it will work with a 9500. It acts as if it is Tape 2 and responds to normal Datalink commands. I believe it takes a 12V supply. It is labelled as a B&O so I am sure Sony will disclaim any involvement! I dare say Tim Jarman, who has interests both in B&O and Sony would be delighted to help! I am afraid that I don't think I have this

I think the original poster is referring to the CMM-10 which was a US model designed to work with systems like the 7000 system. It is indeed based on a Sony car CD changer with a clever B&O Datalink interface. Seem to crop up in the US from time to time. I have seen one in the UK. It needs to go in a cupboard because it looks just like a Sony CD

  • Re: Hiscox Insurance!

I am also with Hiscox now for contents and when my buildings insurance comes up next month, I will be changing that as well. Very good value and from personal experience, the quickest and most reasonable insurer should you be unlucky enough to need to claim. I was badly burgled some 15 years ago and Hiscox were fantastic and made the whole ordeal much

  • Re: B&O Mac Mod

I think it is fantastic! Very very clever! I'd love to be clever enough to make something like this. Way beyond me!
