It is strange. I have one of those bedside lamps that is metal (base and post) and if you touch it very lightly it lights up. B&O must have a reason to only activate the lights on a Beotime with such a forceful tap.

I'm certain it's specific to B&O. These and the Beolit's volume/tone sliding knobs are like hens teeth these days - I'm referring to the 70's model. Your best bet is to buy any old tatty beolit that has a good aeriel and swap it over. Steve
