  • Re: Wrong Riaa Diagram in Service Manual

Here is a home-made wiring diagram - using my board and my wiring colours ... now with an ohmmeter you can trace the correct wire. The 3 black wires are wired together = all to ground. The Yellow is the data-link The Red is Right Channel The White is Left Channel Doesn't matter what colors you have - the same solder points on the PCB go to the same

Hi Theo, I've sent you pictures of my BG4500 with the wiring positions. Let me know if that helps you solve the problem. Menahem

  • Re: BEOGRAM 4500 wiring

Hi Theo, As I said before, I have a picture of mine, but I cannot determine how to post pictures on the new website. Reply to me with your email, and I'll send you the picture directly to your email. Menahem

Here's a picture of mine Menahem I guess I haven't figured out how to attach pictures from my hard disk (not from a Web URL) in the new message format. If someone would be kind enough to explain this to me, I'd be happy to paste this picture.

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Drive Motor

You're right! I was concentrating on the motor issue with the cap, and got sidetracked into thinking of the 2N3055. The 2 TIP's are hard-mounted on the chassis base - I remember I had to replace them, but used more robust substitutes - BD241 for the TIP31 (NPN), and BD242 for the TIP32 (PNP). Menahem

  • Re: Wrong Riaa Diagram in Service Manual

Hi Theo My BG4500 (Type 5953) has RIAA # 8005250B - I used the service manual to check my unit, and didn't come across any inconsistencies. Perhaps I didn't have the problem you had. Would you like to tell us what kind of problems you've got? Menahem Yachad

That 2N3055 is a warm transistor at the best of times, and is widely counterfeited. I got a suggestion from a member at my Tektronix O'scope forum that a 2SC5197 or 2SC5198 is a much better bet. And if that 150uF BiPolar cap is impossible to find, a much more common 220uF BiPolar will do the job just as nicely. Menahem

  • Re: What lubricants can I use for a BeoCenter 9500

Hi I had the same problem with my BC9300, about 2 years ago. I used Silicone Spray very gently and sparingly on the fabric cables and plastic runners. Silicon Spray is non-invasive, and also preserves fabrics and plastics. The problem was solved immediately, and has not returned since. Menahem

  • Re: Starting my Beosystem 8000 restoration.

Hi D, I have not opened a BM8000, so I wouldn't know anything about disassembly. Perhaps one of the other members can chime in and help here. Tuner alignment is an art, and requires the right equipment - at a bare minimum a good quality oscilloscope, with a bandwidth at least as high as the highest frequency you want to check - in this case FM goes
