• Re: Beogram 4000 bearing disc replacement
...you could wait for a battered 4000 on ebay.
It will be battered anyway. We'll let you win it!
Have you spoken to Martin?
Yes. I guess he's still thinking hard on this one!
BTW I am willing to bet the reviewer in that hifiworld article

  • Beogram 4000 bearing disc replacement

Hello everyone, My Beogram 4000 now almost works as it should, after fitting a new bulb in the detector arm, and a change of reed relay! The last thing I need to fix is the main bearing. The white (nylon?) disc at the bottom of the shaft is perforated, possibly worn out. It is noisy and no matter what type of oil or grease I use it remains noisy at

  • Re: Beocord 8002 mystery hole?

Hi, My Beocord 9000 has the hole too, if that helps!

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Not Functioning Properly After Capacitor Replacement

Hi, If your Beogram 4002 has the IR detection (like mine!) you can actually see it glow with a digital camera, on the back LCD (in the dark). It will apprear blue-violet. I think Martin himself gave me this trick! On my 4002 the shutter bulb was fine, but there was a bad solder joint. This could also happen within the detector arm I suppose. [quote

  • Re: Beocenter 9000 has stoped reading CDs. Please help.

Hi, I used a NOS blue Philips cap I had had in stock for years and it worked fine on my Beogram 3300. Prior to that, I had tried other brands but operation was not reliable, although somehow working! It even "works" with CD-RW, but I have to go directly to track 2! I didn't touch any trimmer though...

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Tone Arm Wires
Yes, but I would still try to make sure they don't rub on metal parts as that will eventually wear through the thin lacquer. Martin
Oh yes. You have to be extra-careful when you pull out and put back on the big alu panel, which has a tendency to rub against the arm base and its wires!

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?
Help me... which thrust pad is this? Pic?
No picture, I couldn't manage to take one! It's the white nylon disc at the bottom of the bearing. It seems to get perforated with use.

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

    Thanks Olly.
I am certain I once pondered the exact same question as you regarding the hole Jacques, if that helps!!! Cannot remember for the life of me which deck but was definately 400x!
A new thrust pad anyone? I just "filled up" the hole with a bit of teflon. The bearing now turns more freely, but

  • Re: Beogram 4000: worth it?

Hi, Could anybody here be nice enough to tell me what the thrust pad (the nylon insert) at the bottom of their bearings look like? Mine has a small (1mm) hole through it and this doesn't look normal, but I may be wrong. I'm more used to traditional bearings, à la Thorens! Do you run on your original grey caps? My motor has some trouble

  • Re: About the signal path capacitors

Yes, this wasn't very nice at all. People here are sharing their knowledge and it's free. We are all glad to do it! Menahem, your reaction is that of a gentleman, which we appreciate. And please keep informing us about what you do!
